Crafted from reclaimed Canela-preta hardwood salvaged from a historic townhouse overlooking Praça da Matriz in Paraty, this piece carries a story that spans centuries. Canela-preta is a rare Brazilian hardwood that can no longer be sourced in its original form, surviving today only through the careful recovery of historic buildings. Every fragment preserves the memory of a place, a landscape, and a way of life that no longer exists.

Over the course of nearly two centuries, sunlight, rain, humidity, wind, and everyday use gradually transformed the wood, carving a surface of ridges, fissures, and textures that no human hand could ever recreate. The fronts of the doors and drawer reveal these marks of time in their most authentic form, like a landscape shaped by history itself.
